Rockland Jurist Moved up to Appellate Division

The Governor has designated a Rockland resident to fill an Associate Justice vacancy on the Appellate Division-Second Department, which covers ten counties in the lower Hudson Valley, Long Island, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island. Supreme Court Justice Linda Christopher started as a law clerk in 1980, and has worked her way up through the system, with her first position as a jurist serving as Acting Justice for Upper Nyack and Grandview. In 2005, she was elected to the Rockland County Family Court, and she also served as Acting Supreme Court Justice for the Integrated Domestic Violence Court from 2006 through 2010.  She currently serves as the Supervising Judge for Matrimonial Matters for the Ninth Judicial District.
