The Orange County police chief shot Tuesday while working on a domestic disturbance call in the village of Maybrook is out of the hospital and recovering after being shot. The 28 year-old suspect reportedly killed himself with a single gunshot wound to the head. News 12 reported Arnold Amthor, the chief of the Montgomery and Maybrook police, was recovering at home after being shot in the shoulder. There’s no additional information about the domestic disturbance that lead to the incident, which is under investigation.
