Orangetown Race for Supervisor

Kleiner says Orangetown is in great shape and he wants to keep it that way, but in particular, he wants to focus on taxes and quality of life issues by sticking to well-developed zoning and planning codes…

Kleiner previously served as Supervisor from 1996 to 2009. He’ll face political newcomer, Chris Day, whose father is the County Executive. Day held a press conference at Rockland Psychiatric Center last week to announce his “Preserving Orangetown” initiative…

Part of Day’s 8-point plan includes such goals as rezoning the rest of the Rockland Psychiatric Center property that’s owned by the state, proactively searching for illegal apartments using observations and utilities data, and increasing fines for zoning code violations. Day announced his candidacy in January.
