Reps Discuss Kindergarten for State

While there is a handful of school districts across the state, including North Rockland, that do not have full- or half-day kindergarten for four and five year-olds, two local state representatives are hoping to make it easier for those districts to get it. Assemblyman Ken Zebrowski and State Senator David Carlucci were on the Morning Show yesterday. Zebrowski said while the Governor is already pushing for three year-olds to be in pre-K, there’s still some work to be done first…

Carlucci said while Kindergarten is not mandated in the state, he believes kids that do not have a structured education by the time they are five years-old could find themselves lagging behind their peers…

Carlucci has a bill pending in the Senate and Zebrowski has one in the Assembly that attempt to establish full-day Kindergarten for the state.
