Haverstraw Man Indicted on Cocaine Charges

A Haverstraw man’s been indicted on charges accusing him of trafficking wholesale amounts of cocaine through local airports from the Dominican Republic. The U.S. Attorney’s office says 49 year-old Matthew Draper was charged with possession and conspiracy to distribute narcotics. According to the indictment, Draper was reportedly caught after he unknowingly spent a month working with a confidential informant and a supplier to transport 20 kilograms of cocaine. He was arrested in October and has since been in custody. He faces a max sentence of life in prison.
