Car Carrier Truck Sliced in Half by CSX Train; No one Hurt

For the second time this week, a car carrier is at the center of an
accident that snarled Rockland traffic. Haverstraw Police say a CSX train
collided with a car carrier yesterday afternoon in the area of Route 9W
and New Main Street in Haverstraw. Haverstraw supervisor Howard Phillips
was a guest on the Morning Show Wednesday and said the truck had stalled on the
railroad tracks. Phillips said the train was able to slow down but carried
the truck 50 feet from its initial impact. No one was reported injured and the
incident is under investigation. On Tuesday a car carrier struck the
Hungry Hollow Road–New York State Thruway overpass in Ramapo. There was no
serious damage to the overpass and no one was reported injured in that
incident, either.
