Senator: NYS Budget Offers Taxpayers Relief

With Uber and so-called “free tuition at SUNY schools” grabbing most of the headlines following the New York state budget agreement earlier this week, a local State Senator is touting  the increased state aid area public schools will get under the new spending plan. State Senator David Carlucci was a guest on The Morning Show yesterday and said increased “foundation aid” gives property taxpayers some relief, and the plan continues the monitor that is overseeing the East Ramapo School District.

The East Ramapo school district has been under state oversight since 2015 after alleged financial mismanagement. Overall, aid to schools across the state will rise by $1.1 billion, or 4.4 percent, to $25.8 billion.
