New York State Implements Self-Imposed Casino Bans to Combat Addiction

A new law was implemented across the entire state of New York this month, stating that people are allowed to ban themselves from state casinos and racetracks. The law is meant to help troubled gamblers who wish to police themselves and ensure they don’t fall into old habits. The state gaming commission decided to implement this policy after New York has increased its gambling options by opening two new upstate casinos. New Yorkers can also call the state hotline at 1-877-8HOPE-NY if they wish to seek help for their gambling addiction.    (Source: LoHud)
