Area Politicians Speak Out on Recent Threats of Violence Against Jewish Community

Congresswoman Nita Lowey, Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann, Acting Clarkstown Police Chief Robert Mahon, and County Executive Ed Day have all recently released statements regarding the disturbing trend of hate speech and threats of violence against the Jewish community in the area, as well as, all across the country. In a statement released yesterday, Congresswoman Lowey commented on the bomb threat made to a Jewish Community Center in Tarrytown, saying they would bring those responsible for the threat to justice. Supervisor Hoehmann and Chief Mahon released a joint statement calling the threats “repugnant and deplorable.” And the County Executive recently talked at length about the horrible graffiti found just off Main Street in New City a few weeks ago.  (Source: Press Release)
