A new report shows that the former owners of the Edwin Gould property informed Rockland officials that their own testing showed no airborne asbestos; however, the current owner’s attorney says the county issued them violations anyway. The current owners have stated that the recent asbestos found in a utility closet did not pose a threat since the closet had been sealed off and the asbestos was not airborne. At this point the asbestos, regardless of being airborne or not, has been removed from the building. County Executive Ed Day remains insistent that more testing should be done to ensure the safety of the school’s students. (Source: LoHud)
