Hateful Graffiti Removed from Woods in New City

It was reported yesterday, that swastikas and racial slurs were spray- painted on 12 trees in the woods off of Cranford and near Main Street in New City. The graffiti was first reported to the police seven months ago but was not cleaned up until yesterday. Property owner, Allen Apfelbaum took the cleanup upon himself after police told him the graffiti was no longer needed for the investigation. Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann expressed the need to address hateful incidents such as this and stated that, “(symbols of hate) have no place in Clarkstown and do not represent the character of the community.”   (Source: LoHud)
