County Executive and Health Commissioner Urge Residents to Install CO Detectors

In a statement released today, County Executive Ed Day and County Health Commissioner Dr. Patricia Schnabel Ruppert are urging residents to, “protect themselves from the dangers of the poisonous gas known as carbon monoxide.” Residents should install CO detectors and make sure they have a back-up source of power. The statement also urges residents to never use any type of gas-powered engines indoors. If you suspect a carbon monoxide leak in your house, open all windows, leave the residence, and then call 9-11.  For more information, you can call the Healthy Neighborhood Program at (845) 364-3292
