Local Congresswoman Nita Lowey introduced the Global Health, Empowerment, and Rights Act, which would permanently repeal the Global Gag Rule. The HER Act would make sure that health providers eligible for U.S. assistance aren’t forced to choose between receiving U.S. funding or providing comprehensive health care services to their patients. The act has 121 cosponsors in house and will be introduced in the U.S. Senate by Senator Jeanne Shaheen.
