New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo has proposed a new law which would tighten the ban on texting while driving. More specifically, the ban would tighten the restrictions on using a cellphone or portable electric device at a red light. The current law states that first-time violator’s face up to a $200 dollar fine and a possible five points on their license. Governor Cuomo has also been looking to bolster seatbelt laws and enforce all occupants in the vehicle to be buckled in. (Source: LoHud)
