Latest Round of Statewide Regional Economic Grants

Mid-Hudson news is reporting this morning that the latest round of statewide regional economic council grants announced Thursday resulted in projects in the Mid-Hudson Valley receiving a total of $83.3 million. The total divvied up between all 10 regions in the state amounted to $700 million. The grants focused on three areas of growth – live , work, and play. Projects reflected municipal infrastructure, riverfront parks and redevelopment, and business expansions. Legoland, not yet approved in the Town of Goshen, is targeted for $3 million. In previous years Legoland was looking at Rockland County, but did not get a favorable response. The theme park expected a total of $10 million from the state. Hotel Thayer at West Point will receive close to $357,000 for tourism marketing.
