As we head into the final month of the year and we start thinking about our final donations here’s one you might want to consider as well – B.R.I.D.G.E.S., a non-profit organization in New York dedicated to providing advocacy and leadership for people with disabilities, needs your help. They have an immediate opportunity to secure two wheelchair accessible vehicles if they can raise the remaining funding. They have already raised $80,000 through a grant from the New York State Department of Transportation, but here’s the catch — the grant requires 20% matching funds that must be supplied with the final grant paperwork in December. This is your chance to be a holiday hero. Each van is equipped for seven passengers, including two individuals in wheelchairs.
