Clean Air for Rockland Rally Tonight at 6 p.m.

Members of the Rockland County grassroots movement Clean Air for Orangetown (CA4O) will be holding a press conference and rally tonight at 6 p.m. on the steps of Orangetown Town Hall, 26 W. Orangeburg Road. Aluf Plastics is scheduled to appear in front of the Orangetown Zoning Board of Appeals at 7 p.m. The rally is intended to demand an end to the noxious odors and unknown emissions emanating from Aluf Plastics. The organization is requesting stringent oversight for the 500,000 square ft. plastic bag manufacturing facility. The company is located in the residential area of Glenshaw Street in Orangeburg. Aluf has been sited three times since May 2016 by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, as being in violation of NYS Air Pollution Control Laws. Clean Air for Orangetown encourages residents to attend the rally and make your voice known.
