Mt. Vernon Police Pay Hike

Mount Vernon city officials have negotiated a new labor contract with police that earns officers an 11 percent raise over four years – from January 2014-December of 2017. The deal has been ratified by a majority of the union’s members. The raises are predominantly retroactive and the first paycheck will be sent to officers in December, a second check for 2015 and a third check for 2016. (Source: Journal News)
