NYS Thruway 2017 Budget No Toll Hikes

The NYS Thruway Authority Chief Financial Officer Matthew Howard turned in the proposed 2017 budget of $1.8 billion to the authority board on Monday. The good news – there will be no toll increases on the New York State Thruway in 2017. The proposed budget is down from the $2 billion budget of 2016. Howard says this is due in part to the transfer of the Canal Corporation from the Thruway Authority to the New York Power Authority and there will be a reduction of approximately $294 million in spending on the New York bridge. 2017 also does not include any state subsidy.
