Rockland County Legislator Harriet Cornell, who chairs the Rockland County Task Force on Water Resources Management, will participate in this year’s 11th annual Hudson River Watershed Alliance Conference. The conference is November 2 at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library & Home in Hyde Park. Cornell stated the “event brings together scientists, environmentalists and other experts who share their knowledge, build partnerships, and work collectively to identify both issues and solutions with the goal of protecting the health of our beautiful Hudson River, its tributaries and streams.” Since successfully fighting a proposal to build a costly, energy-intensive water treatment plant on the banks of the Hudson River Cornell is focusing her efforts to reduce leaks and boost conservation to ensure a sustainable water future.
