White Plains is seeing a boom in new building projects, ranging from new housing, retail outlets, and offices. For the first time in a decade, new development projects are springing up all over the city but especially near The Westchester Mall. While some projects are already starting construction, White Plains residents should expect construction projects to become more common in the upcoming years. (Source: LoHud)

A woman from Saddle Brook, New Jersey was arrested on Tuesday after it was discovered that she owed more than 7,000 dollars in unpaid EZPass tolls and fines. Police impounded a truck that was owned by 38-year-old Luz A. Waldstein when it attempted to pass through the Holland Tunnel without paying. Waldstein was not driving the truck at the time; however she was required to go to the Holland Tunnel to pick it up. She has since been released and is scheduled back in court on October 25th. The annual event is designed to raise money for various charities and to build camaraderie between the departments. In national baseball news, The Cleveland Indians are heading back to the World Series for the first time since 1997. The Indians were able to put away the Blue Jays for good with a 3-0 shutout win in Toronto yesterday; the Indians have not won the World Series since 1948. Meanwhile in the National League Championship Series, the Cubs were able to even the slate at two games apiece with the Dodgers after a 10-2 win in Los Angeles; those two teams play again tonight at 8 p.m.
