From October 1 to October 14, the Department of Motor Vehicles automated online system processed more than 214,356 online voter registration applications, including over 122,147 first-time voters. The number of applications in those two weeks shattered the previous month record of over 140,602, including 78,432 first time voters. Governor Andrew M. Cuomo stated, “Our online voter registration system has broken down barriers and enabled hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers to participate in the electoral process.” The upcoming presidential election is on Tuesday, November 8.
