Winnie-the-Pooh 100th Birthday

One hundred years ago today, Canadian Soldier and veterinarian Harry Coleboum was traveling across Canada to head overseas into the First World War when he saw an orphaned bear cub and bought it from a trapper for $20. The soldier named the cub, Winnie, after his hometown of Winnipeg. Heading to the dangerous shores of France, Coleboum, gave the bear to the London Zoo and over the years she became a popular attraction that drew the attention of author A.A. Milne and his son Christopher Robin Milne. Happy 100th Birthday, Winnie-the-Pooh.
