The Associate Press is reporting that in the past five years federal safety data shows New Jersey Transit trains, the second-largest commuter railroad in the nation, has had more accidents and fines levied for safety violations than any other in the country. Since 2011, the commuter line has been involved in 157 accidents, including the Hoboken crash that killed one and injured hundreds in September. According to the AP that is three times more than the largest rail transit line the Long Island Rail Road.
