The man accused of planting bombs at the Jersey Shore and in New York City’s Chelsea neighborhood has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder of police officers and multiple handgun offenses. 28-year-old Ahmad Khan Rahimi, who is still recovering from gunshot wounds in the hospital, appeared in court via video conference. Rahimi also faces federal charges related to the bombings; he is currently being held on 5.2 million dollars bail. (Source: NorthJersey)

A Paterson man was arrested on Wednesday after a 2 week police investigation discovered he had stolen 160,000 dollars’ worth of cheese products. Police say 18-year-old Darluis J Ortiz, as well as other intruders, broke into the La Fe Foods warehouse and left with an entire pallet of Tastee Brand cheese products. Ortiz was charged with multiple felonies including theft and burglary; he is currently being held in lieu of 150,000 dollars bail. (Source: NorthJersey)

According to a recent report released this week by Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, the sale of organic farm products is on the rise in New York State. The report sites that there was a 56% increase in sales of organic farm products between 2008 and 2014. The state now has a total of 917 organic farms, which makes up slightly less than 6% of the national total. New York is currently ranked third in the nation in terms of the amount of certified organic farms in the state; only California and Wisconsin have more. (Source: LoHud)

In national baseball news, the Dodgers’ late rally against Max Scherzer and the Nationals’ bullpen proved too much for Washington as Los Angeles moves onto the NLCS to face the Cubs. Meanwhile, the ALCS starts tonight as the Blue Jays travel to Cleveland to face the Indians; game time is scheduled for 8 p.m.
