Lawmakers in New Jersey were scheduled to vote on a .23 cent gas hike yesterday but the vote has been delayed until Friday due to a lack of support for an emergency declaration that would have completed the motion. The Senate was short 30 votes to force the emergency vote and The Assembly cannot vote until the Senate takes action. Once passed, the legislation would set up a $2 billion-a-year transportation trust fund and would include cuts in sales, estate and additional taxes.
