Hurricane Matthew Update

Hurricane Matthew as of 5:00 a.m. is now a Category 3 hurricane. It is approximately 60 miles SSE of Nassau, Bahamas and about 225 SE of Wet Palm Beach, Florida. Winds are moving at 125 –miles-per-hour and gusting at 135-miles-per-hour. Residents of Georgia, South Carolina, and north Carolina may also be impacted. No word yet on whether the storm will continue our way or head out to sea. County Executive Ed Day and County Health Commissioner Dr. Patricia Schnabel Ruppert say that, “Even though Hurricane Matthew may not impact our area, this reminds us that it is important to be prepared. Now is a good time to review, update, or begin your emergency preparedness plans, including your emergency supply kit.” For more information on the storm:
