Federal prosecutors have revealed this week that a Rockland man, who was a key witness in a narcotics and firearms case against a former NYPD officer, has been found dead. Robert Bishun of Garnerville was found with his neck and wrists zip tied in the backseat of a car just two weeks before he was scheduled to testify against Merlin Aston. The former NYPD officer was under house arrest at the time of Bishun’s killing, however prosecutors are highly suspicious of Aston and his associates. Aston was arrested and charged back in 2014 for one count of narcotics conspiracy and one count of firearms possession.

In Pearl River, residents, as well as commuters who frequent the train station, are complaining that NJ transit trains are dumping sewage and waste. Transit officials say, however, that it is simply treated water and not human waste. Despite this, residents cannot deny the smell and are pushing for NJ transit to look into the issue.

On Friday, 4 men were arrested for stealing various types of drugs from a CVS on route 202 and a Walgreens in Stony Point. Police chased the suspects through the woods and used helicopters, as well as, tracking dogs to catch all 4 men. Investigators are still piecing together the entire story and have not yet released any names. The incident also delayed school dismissals in the North Rockland district.
