The Center for Disease Control released their annual report of obesity rates throughout the U.S. and New York State was one of five states where obesity levels are declining year to year. Between 25%-27% of New Yorkers rate as obese — moving our ranking from 41st to 47th this year. People who are obese are at a higher risk of high blood pressure, Type 2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke, sleep apnea and some forms of cancer.
