Ramapo HS Student Brings Loaded Gun on Bus

On Friday at approximately 2 p.m., a 16-year-old student and a younger student from Ramapo High were riding the school bus and got into a war of words about whether the older student was carrying a gun. It escalated until the older student, whose name is not being released due to age, allegedly pulled out a loaded 9mm Hi-Point handgun and threatened the younger student. The younger student told his parents who notified Ramapo police. Authorities found the older student on Friday evening as a passenger in 23-year-old Timothy Brown’s car. They recovered the gun and charged the student with felony counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, first-degree reckless endangerment, and misdemeanor second-degree menacing. The teen is being held at county jail in lieu of $20,000 bail. Brown is being held without bail.
