Clarkstown PD to Cut $2.7M From Budget

The Clarkstown police department will be tightening its belt as the town board, police department, and Clarkstown PBA agreed at Tuesday night’s meeting to cut $2.7 million from next year’s budget. The plan is to retire 10-15 officers; hire lower salaried new officers; and add changes to overtime scheduling policies, among other initiatives. Suspended Police Chief, Michael Sullivan, was not privy to the negotiations regarding the cuts. He attended the meeting with supporters for his reinstatement.
