Police in Mount Vernon have yet to identify a suspect in the deadly shooting that occurred at the city’s annual Arts on Third festival on Sunday. 42-year-old Kyle Dennis was immediately taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police have stated that they believe it was an isolated attack and that Dennis was targeted by his assailant. (Source: LoHud)

On Monday, a New Jersey woman admitted to authorities that she collected over 345,000 dollars in unemployment benefits over a three year period. 35-year-old Erica Rivera applied online for 24 people, including friends and family, and opened debit cards in their names. Police have uncovered surveillance footage, spanning the years 2012 to 2015, of Rivera using the fake debit cards at ATMs in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Washington D.C. Prosecutors in the case are recommending that Rivera be sentenced to 8 years in prison. (Source: NorthJersey)

The Suez water company has released a statement asking property owners in Rye Brook, Port Chester, and Rye City to limit their water usage during a drought that has been affecting the water supply in Westchester’s Sound Shore. Suez states that they are concerned about a dwindling water supply for everyday use and fire protection; some conservation tips include using a broom to clear sidewalks, setting your lawn mower one notch higher, and covering pools to reduce evaporation. The Major League Baseball playoff push continued last night. The New York Mets remained in the first wild card spot as they lost 7-3 to the Atlanta Braves. The New York Yankees, meanwhile, were off last night.
