On Thursday, a 15-year-old in the Patterson Public School District was arrested for assaulting a teacher. The student, whose name was not released due to his age, was taken into custody after the incident when attempted to flee Great Falls Academy. The extent of the teacher’s injuries was not released. A man from Saddle Brook, New Jersey was arrested on Thursday for possessing marijuana and cocaine with intent to distribute. 29-year-old Peter J. Stuart was taken into custody after police executed a search warrant of his home and discovered the drugs. Stuart was taken to Bergen County Jail where he is being held on a 100,000 dollar bail. Chestnut Ridge Middle School is one of 39 New York public schools to receive federal grants in order to help its educational framework. The federal grants that will go towards Chestnut Ridge total 2.4 million dollars. The school’s new educational framework will reportedly focus more on college and career readiness; Chestnut Ridge Middle School was the only Rockland County School to be chosen to receive federal grants. The Rockland Boulders lost a 13-12 slugfest to the Ottawa Champions last night in game three of the championship series. Hector Nelo took the loss for Rockland, while Andrew Cooper earned the win for Ottawa. The series stays at Palisades Credit Union Park for game four tonight; game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
