Afternoon News Update 9/12

In East Rutherford on Sunday, six cars were damaged by flames while tailgating before the Jets season opener. It was reported that a car caught fire after driving over coals from a barbeque and was close enough to five other cars that they were also damaged from the flames. Three of the damaged cars had to be towed; luckily no one was injured in the incident. (Source: NorthJersey)

On Tuesday, some residents of Westchester county and Putnam county will be voting in three legislature primaries. The three districts with seats up for election are the 40th Senate district, the 94th Assembly District, and the 36th Senate District. The 40th and 36th Districts are open to voters who are registered Democrats, while the 94th District is open to registered Republican voters. (Source: LoHud)

The Rockland Boulders had a busy weekend as their best of five series with the Quebec Capitales continued. The Boulders lost on Friday, but were able to win on Saturday and Sunday to even up the series. The final game of the series is tonight at Palisades Credit Union Park as Rockland’s season hangs in the balance; game time is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
