Arrests in Pearl River Over Holiday

Sunday evening in Pearl River kept police busy. Just before 5 p.m. 27-year-old Conor Gorman of Elmsford and 28-year-old Matthew Capuano of Nyack were arrested at the Gulf Station on North Middletown Road in Pearl River. Police received a call that two men were acting oddly. When authorities arrived Gorman was discovered to have prescription pills and packets of heroin. After a search of the area officers found more packets of heroin and arrested both men. They were arraigned in Orangetown Justice Court and are being held at Rockland County Jail on $15,000 bail each. Next court date is September 9. Then, just before 8:30 p.m. on Route 304 in Pearl River 58-year-old, James Hartnett crashed his car, according to Orangetown Police Department. He is facing felony DUI for two counts of driving while intoxicated. He was released to a friend and his court date is October 4.
