No one was injured in a dorm room fire at Purchase College on Sunday night. However, the fire displaced two dozen students who have been temporarily relocated. Authorities say that the fire does not appear to be suspicious. (Source: LoHud)

Two men were arrested on Sunday at a Pearl River gas station when police found them with prescription pills and packets of heroin. 27-year-old Conor Gorman and 28-year-old Matthew Capuano were reportedly acting suspicious at the Gulf gas station on North Middletown Road when police were called to the scene. The two were arraigned in Orangetown Justice Court; they are currently being held at Rockland County Jail. (Source: LoHud)

Nyack School District officials say all water fountains and sinks have been cleared of lead after multiple water fixtures were found to have had higher-than-normal levels. Water tests began last spring in Nyack and continued throughout the summer in anticipation for the upcoming school year. Nyack, as well as other Rockland school districts, felt compelled to complete these water tests after seeing the water crisis in Flint, Michigan. (Source: LoHud)

The Rockland Boulders had a busy Labor Day weekend against the New Jersey Jackals. Rockland won both games of a double header on Friday against New Jersey, however they would go on to lose to the Jackals on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Last night’s game marked the end of the regular season for the Boulders and the rest of the Can-Am league; playoffs start tomorrow night and will continue to September 17th.
