Noramie Jasmin, the former Spring Valley Mayor, has been denied an appeal for her April 2015 bribery conviction by a federal appeals court. She was convicted of mail fraud and Hobbs Act extortion after selling her vote for a proposed community center and catering hall. In February, she began serving a four-year sentence.
