A fire broke out at approximately 3:40 a.m. on 2 Maple Lane, off route 121, in Southeast’s Peach Lake neighborhood, according to the Journal News. It is reported that one person is dead and two others were able to escape the blaze. No identification yet on the victims. Fire Departments from Croton falls, Carmel, Lake Carmel and Putnam Lake were called and the fire was out by 4:45 a.m. An investigation is ongoing by state police and Putnam county Fire Investigation team. Route 121 is closed to traffic during the investigation.
