New statistics from the New York Department of Labor show Hudson Valley, Columbia and Putnam as having the lowest unemployment numbers in July. New York’s statewide unemployment rate of 4.7% is at its lowest since August 2007. Locally, Rockland was at 4.2%, Westchester at 4.3% and Orange at 4.3% a drop for all three counties from 4.9%. The lowest county in the state was Hamilton with 3.0%.
