Stage 2 Water Restrictions Downgraded to Stage 1

The mandatory Stage 2 water restrictions have been downgraded to Stage 1, according to County Executive Ed Day and Commissioner of Health Dr. Patricia Schnabel-Ruppert. Ruppert said the county’s “water resources have not completely recovered” she added, “it is important to continue to use water wisely.” Residents and Businesses may now water their lawns every other day; lawns, gardens and landscape areas may be watered for additional hours on specified days; residents and businesses may now hand wash cars; wash paved surfaces such as sidewalks, driveways and patios; and plant nurseries and golf course 10-percent restriction is gone. Day said, “We continue to ask residents and businesses to be vigilant in their efforts to make sure there is sufficient water available for domestic use and fire protection.”
