NYS Send 30 Volunteers to Support CA Fires

Fires continue to burn in California and New York State has announced it is sending a crew of 30 employees and volunteers from the New York state Department of Environmental Conservation to assist in the containment of the wildfires. They will join crews from other states and will be assigned to fires where they are most needed. The New York team is expected to be active in firefighting for two weeks. All personnel travel and administrative costs for the crew will be paid directly by the U.S. Forest Service or reimbursed to the state.
