$50M Keeps Seniors Home

Good news for 70,000 NYS seniors this morning, the State announced yesterday that $50M has been awarded to Area Agencies on Aging to help seniors remain in their homes and communities. The funding is made available through the Expanded In-Home Services for the Elderly Program and will support senior independence and reduce reliance on Medicaid. If you are 60 years of age, not eligible for Medicaid, and able to live safely in your community this program will assist with non-medical services like shopping, cooking, or paying bills and includes support for caregivers and does not require a doctor’s prescription. For more information: www.aging.ny.gov and look for Expanded In-Home Services for the Elderly Program. Or Call: 845-364-2110.
