Solarize Hudson Valley Not a Scam

Yesterday on WRCR’s The Morning Show several Rockland residents called in about a letter they received from the town of Nyack with Clarkstown’s Supervisor George Hoehmann’s name included and mailed from a third party address – all in all it smelled of a “scam” in their eyes and was immediately trashed. In an email yesterday, Clarkstown’s Director of Finance and Hoehmann’s Chief of Staff , Vincent Balascio, wrote, “First it is not a scam.  Solarize Hudson Valley is part of a New York State incentive program for homeowners thinking about going green.  This is not an endorsement of any company, just an informational letter about the tax incentive.” He added, “Solarize Hudson Valley is supported by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) under Governor Andrew M. Cuomo’s NY-Sun initiative.” Solarize Hudson Valley paid for and mailed the letter and unfortunately they did not get it out in time for the deadline.  So the deadline has been extended until the end of the month for any homeowner who can participate in the NYS incentive program.  So, if you threw the letter away or just haven’t received one you still have time to visit the State website nyserda.ny.gov.
