Afternoon News Update

Police in Yorktown say they arrested a man who was driving under the influence on the Taconic State Parkway, while transporting heroin. 28-year-old David Vasquez stopped his car in the middle of the southbound lane and was unresponsive when an off-duty police officer offered to help. By the time State Troopers arrived, Vasquez was responsive and was eventually charged with multiple felony counts. Vasquez was released and is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on August 25th.

A Passaic man, who has been missing since Friday morning, was finally found this past Sunday. Police and family members posted fliers of 67-year-old Andres Casiano on social media over the weekend. Casiano was found at HackensackUMC Mountainside in Montclair and is currently residing with his family.

The Happy Together Tour is coming to Palisades Credit Union Park tonight! The tour features some of the best rockers of the 60’s and 70’s, including Chuck Negron formerly of Three Dog Night, The Turtles featuring Flo and Eddie, Mark Lindsay, and more. Gates open at 5:30 and the first band will start their set at 6 pm. Tickets are available at the gates.

The Rockland Boulders racked up 12 runs last night against the Quebec Capitales in a 12-5 victory. Brett Palanski earned the win for Rockland, while Mac Acker took the loss for Quebec. The Boulders will look for two wins tonight as they’ll battle the Trois-Rivieres Aigles in a double header in Canada; the first Game is scheduled for 5:00 pm.
