I’m Patrick Flood with your WRCR News, It’s Tuesday August 2nd.

A Brewster man is being charged with multiple felony counts after he reportedly slashed an acquaintance with a knife. 25-year-old John K Schoenfelder Jr. was drinking alcohol with the victim, when things escalated and Schoenfelder pulled out a knife. The victim, who is also in his mid-20s, went to a nearby firehouse to receive treatment. Schoenfelder has been charged with second degree assault and first degree reckless endangerment. He is scheduled to appear in Brewster Village Court on August 8th.

Matthew Beckerle of Pearl River has been sentenced to six months in jail after driving drunk and injuring five people back in June of 2015. Beckerle was originally charged with misdemeanor drunk driving; however the Rockland District Attorney’s Office was able to upgrade the charges based on the severity of the injuries. Beckerle’s plea bargain is expected to include five years probation.

If you’re looking for a fun late-summer activity, then look no further than Slide the City in Nyack on August 27th. Slide the City is an all day party, located on Main Street in Nyack, featuring a 1,000-foot water slide. The event will start at 9 AM and go to 9 PM. The Rockland Boulders are off for the next few days, but will head north on Thursday to try and turn things around against the Quebec Capitales; Game time is scheduled for 7:05 pm.
