Stroud Sexual Abuse Case Charged by Feds

The sexual abuse case against 19-year old Marcus Stroud, a volunteer wrestling coach in Clarkstown continues to build as U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara, working with the FBI, has now charged Stroud with one federal count of sexual exploitation of a child, a felony that carries a 15 to 30 year prison sentence if convicted. Still pending are charges from February, when Stroud was charged by Clarkstown police with second-degree sexual misconduct and endangering the welfare of a child. In a release, Bharara stated that Stroud met his victim through his work as a volunteer coach in December and using different social media accounts, posing as different people, got the victim to send him nude photos, intimidate him into thinking the photos would go public and then posing as a “good Samaritan” who wanted to help. Stroud was a 2015 graduate of East Ramapo High School.
