Elie Wiesel and Notables Pass Over the Weekend

Over the weekend – Elie Wiesel, the Aushwitz survivor, political activist, Nobel Laureate, 1986 Nobel Peace Prize recipient and author of 57 books died Saturday. He was 87. And Michel Rocard, former Prime Minister of France passed Saturday at the age of 85 – he served France from 1988-1991 – known as the creator of the “American Left” he believed that idealistic social goals are useless unless supported by practical economic measures. The Academy award winning filmmaker of “The Deer Hunter”, Michael Cimino passed on Saturday, cause of death has not been determined, he was 77. And finally, Noel Neill passed on Sunday at the age of 95 she was best known for her portrayal of Lois Lane in the 1950s television series Superman. She inspired many women to consider journalism as a career.
