NYS on High Alert After Orlando Terrorism Attack

After terrorist attacks early Sunday morning on a nightclub in Orlando, Florida killed 50 and injured 53, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo sent prayers and support on behalf of all New Yorkers to the families, the people of Florida and the LGBT community. He then directed New York State law enforcement to remain vigilant in the wake of this senseless attack and has increased security at high-profile locations across the state.   Cuomo said, “Early reports indicate this was likely an act of domestic terrorism. While there is no specific intelligence that suggests any link between the attacks that occurred in Orlando with New York, out of an abundance of caution, I have directed additional security measures at key points around the state as a precaution.” As always, New Yorkers can report any suspicious activities to the Terrorism Tip Line at: 866-723-3697 (SAFE-NYS) or CTCenter@nysic.ny.gov — “If you see something, say something”
