Looking for something fun to do this weekend? You might want to check out the new 12,000 square foot Cadillac House in New York City. The venue is part art gallery and part coffeehouse located on the ground floor of the company’s new global headquarters will serve as a rotating location for events, vehicle exhibitions and collaborative partnerships. It will host concerts, interactive art installations and fashion retail space. No auto sales, just fun and appreciation of the car invented in 1902. In 2014, General Motors agreed to relocate the Cadillac global headquarters to New York City from Detroit made possible through a $1 million dollar grant from Empire State Development. The award funding leveraged a substantial investment from General Motors and currently supports 150 jobs at the NYC location, tripling the state’s return on investment in terms of jobs created. Governor Andrew M. Cuomo who attended the ribbon cutting stated, “There is a great 1950s Cadillac LeMonte coupe which is one of four ever made inside which is really a piece of art. So I am going to go back in and study that a little bit more.” The new Cadillac House is located at 330 Hudson Street in Lower Manhattan.
