Tallman Beach & Pool Club Ready to Open

In just 12 days Rockland may possibly enjoy the opening of the new Tallman Beach and Pool Club at Tallman Mountain State Park. The club website claims it is an “oasis of family fun and enjoyment in a private destination”. The venue was originally built in the 1930s, fell into disrepair and was eventually closed and the pools drained in 2009. Billy Procida’s Tallman Beach and Pool Club, LLC signed a 20-year lease with the Palisades Interstate Park Commission to reopen and manage the two pools at the site. Procida is known for financing real estate projects in the metropolitan area. Sources say, there has been an investment of over $750,000 to restore the facility keeping some of the original charm and incorporating some new and exciting venues like NoCo Northern Comfort Catering. There are 200 memberships for sale starting at $600 (175 have already sold) and $10 day passes will also be for sale. The club has a capacity of 400 and members will have first priority access. There are roughly 6,500 square feet of beach sand and approximately 125 Adirondack chairs. There is a main pool and a kiddie pool. Right now the opening date for members is set for May 28th (pending state approvals); day passes will begin sometime early June.
